 YOUR TALENTS

Pastor Taiwo @ Sunday service

There is nothing a Christian has that he has not received from God as God is the source of all things and He gives freely. The kingdom of God demands fearless venture and fearless investments. Whatever God blesses a Christian with; He expects it to be invested in the life of others.

This was the core of Pastor Taiwo’s message titled Your Talents at the June 3, Sunday service. The theme scriptures were taken from Matthew 25:14-30 and Luke 19:11-26 which focused on the Parable of the Talents and the principles that every Christian should imbibe from it.

He explained to the church that whatever God gives is sufficient for one’s life assignment. “God will not send a Christian on an assignment with inadequate resources,” he said.

Pastor Taiwo also stressed on the need for Christians to display the right attitude. For the servants with the talents, their attitude made the difference.

“Other than your salvation, the next important thing is your attitude,” he said.

He went on to say that a man’s attitude will reveal the conviction of his heart as people will measure you by your attitude. “A Christian’s attitude should endear others to the kingdom,” he said.

POWER OF FAITH

Pastor Taiwo @Thursday Showers

The moment fear takes hold of your heart, faith gives way. You can’t hold on to both, you can only hold on to one. These were the words of Pastor Taiwo Odukoya at the May 31st Thursday Showers Service as he read from the Book of Luke 5:17-25 which tells the story of the paralysed man who was brought to Jesus by his friends through the roof.

Speaking on the power of faith, Pastor Taiwo explained that on sighting the mammoth crowd waiting outside to see Jesus, fear could have stopped the men from getting their friend to Jesus. The devil may have told them lies that there was no way in to their miracle. But the men held on to their faith instead of fear. This of course silenced the lie of the devil and made a way for them.

“Every time faith moves, it disperses the lies that has taken root in our lives,” he said.

He went on to state that though faith is a lonely journey, and everything physical will fight this faith, he encouraged all to believe in the voice of faith because, “anywhere faith persists, God will move,” he said.
