Pastor Taiwo Odukoya @ Sunday Service
While ministering at the February 12 Sunday service, the Senior Pastor of The Fountain of Life Church, Pastor Taiwo Odukoya, said that everything attests to the truth that God is the only Factor as revealed in Genesis 1: 1 – 4.
According to him, if God had not created the earth and everything in it, there would not have been anything. He noted that God is unique and one, but His Spirit always works with Him to accomplish His purposes.
Reading from John 1:1 – 7, Pastor Taiwo told the congregation to note that all things were made by God. For emphasis, he declared that “there is nothing made or valuable without Him. Whatever He has not made is not allowable. If those things occur, they will not abide or endure.”
Quoting Hebrews 1:10 – 12, he stated that the Spirit hovers and God always speaks to bring His desire to pass, adding that without His Word nothing will become a reality. “The only assured place is in Jesus. It is so important to give God the best and pre-eminent place at all times,” he said.
He continued, “The future is firmly in God’s hands. You need to totally submit to His counsels, not minding losses or negative experiences. Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery. There is the need for absolute trust in God for actualisation.”
Pastor Taiwo enjoined believers to know that God created them for His pleasure and goodness, enjoining them to declare affirmatively that “everything God has done about me is good”.
He then encouraged his listeners from Ephesians 4:6 -7 to always keep the desire for God burning by not looking at the realities of the times, and enjoined all to keep looking up to God through prayers and supplications as well as rendering songs of thanksgiving.
Pastor Taiwo Odukoya @ Thursday Showers
As usual, the February 9 Thursday Showers service was a demonstration of the mighty power of God. The praise and worship session as well as the testimonies shared by Mummy Felicia Oyekanmi and Sisters Olayemi and Seye Adeniran were truly evident of God’s sovereignty and involvement in the affairs of His children.
Pastor Taiwo Odukoya, while ministering the Word, told the congregation that the spirit realm is real, adding that God is Spirit and they that seek to worship Him must do so in spirit and truth. “Without God in the life of a person, the capacity to worship Him in spirit and truth will not be there, and communication with Him will not be possible,” he said.
Reading from Romans 8:9 and citing the account of Satan appearing before God when the sons of God gathered as recorded in Job 1:6-7, he said that someone can be a part of the body of Christ and not have the Spirit of God in him or her. This is why, according to Pastor Taiwo, it is vital for believers to have the Spirit of discernment as it would help them know who to embrace and who not to embrace.
In his words, “They gather where the sons of God gather and are there to cause chaos. The devil only comes to steal, kill and destroy, but the good news is, Christ has come that the world will have life, Zoe, God kind of life and in abundance.”
Reading further from Luke 18:1 and James 5:16-17, Pastor Taiwo said that when there is a losing of heart, it is usually the result of prayers being relegated to the background. He therefore charged his listeners to pray about everything so as not to lose heart. “If you are losing anything, then pray. Even if you are about to lose heart, go ahead and pray as prayer changes anything,” he said.
He stressed the need to confess one’s fault so as not to give the devil a foothold in the place of prayer. “Get that settled and out of the way, then pray,” he urged.
He then encouraged the church to make it a habit of always praying in the spirit, after which he led the brethren in a session of prayers, and charged them to pray in the Spirit and watch God move in His power and glory.
