Dwelling on the encounter of Jacob with God as recorded in Genesis 28:10-22, Pastor Taiwo at the March 10 Sunday service said that God establishes His covenant through renewals, and every believer is qualified for that covenant because of the blood of Jesus, which is the ultimate covenant that connects them with Him.
Speaking from Psalm 89:24-37, he noted that the beginning of a believer’s next level is always the revelation of Jesus and not smartness. Having an encounter with God, he said, brings a believer to the consciousness of who God is as well as their commitment to the covenant just as it happened for Jacob.
He therefore urged them never to allow anything take their focus away from God. “Blessings, trials, challenges can change people but as a covenant child of God, do not be conformed but be transformed by the renewing of your mind,” he urged.

There would always be a contest in life but as a believer you should never get upset or frigid, because God has a special plan for your life. He has chosen you for something. These were the words of Pastor Taiwo Odukoya at the March 7 Thursday Showers service. “The blessings God has given you for your assignment in life are totally irreversible,” he said.
Speaking from Genesis 28:10-22; 27:41, he noted that giving in to anger over the situations of life would lead believers to the place of bitterness or vengeance. This, he said, would hinder God from fighting for them. In his words, “Don’t allow anger drive you to the place of vengeance thereby making you to leave God out of the contest. If God has kept you till now, then He can solve your problems. He still has the sovereignty.”
He then advised them to always focus on the Word of God because it is the key to revealing God’s open heaven and blessing. “The more you focus on the logos—the Word of God, the more it becomes rhema to you; then impossibilities begin to turn to possibilities,” he stated.
