Pastor Toluwani Odukoya @ Sunday service

Pastor Toluwani Odukoya, during her message at the October 18 Sunday service, emphasised the importance of spiritual discernment and understanding God’s timing and direction for our lives, drawing from 1 Chronicles 12:32.

Using the sons of Issachar, who understood the times and knew what Israel ought to do, as an example, she encouraged believers to seek divine discernment and live purposefully. She cautioned against wasting time on frivolous matters, reminding the congregation of the brevity of life and the need to live with purpose, honour and courage rather than remaining spiritually asleep.

Pastor Toluwani further explained, using the example of David, that knowing what to do is not enough; believers must also know when to do it. She stressed the importance of seeking the Lord’s guidance to avoid missing divine opportunities and strategic moments.

She therefore called on the congregation to awaken spiritually, make use of the gifts of the Holy Spirit, and walk in wisdom and discernment, making the most of their time on earth to advance the Kingdom of God.

Earlier in the service, Pastor Amaka Madueme, sharing from the Promise of the Week in Deuteronomy 28:13, reminded the congregation of God’s promise to make believers the head and not the tail, above only and not beneath. She, however, emphasised that this promise comes with a condition: believers must heed the commandments of the Lord and carefully observe them. Pastor Madueme encouraged congregants to receive the promise and run with it, noting that when God gives a promise, He Himself provides the encouragement needed to fulfil it.
