Pastor Jimmy Odukoya @ Sunday service
In a powerful message titled “He Launched My Lunch,” Pastor Jimmy Odukoya reminded the congregation at the August 31 family Sunday service that God’s nature is one of supernatural provision. Using the story of the boy with five loaves and two fish recorded in John 6:2, he emphasised the importance of surrendering themselves and their possessions to God, trusting that He knows how to multiply them for our good.
He also pointed out the grateful attitude of Jesus before sharing the bread and fish, noting that gratitude to God should remain constant, as situations and conditions do not last forever. He noted, “gratitude should be a constant attitude in our lives, regardless of our circumstances.”
Pastor Jimmy further reminded the congregation that God wants His people to hope, dream, and see beyond their limitations, for with Him nothing is impossible. He affirmed that God can do more than anyone can imagine and cannot be confined by circumstances, as He is greater than them all. He thereafter encouraged the congregation to always remember that God is their Shepherd, and therefore they should not worry about anything but trust Him.
Earlier in the service, Pastor Toluwani shared the promise for the week from Isaiah 61:7, noting that God is always willing and ready to exchange any garment of negativity to that of blessings. She therefore encouraged the congregation to see themselves as the planting of the Lord and claim every promise He has given to them, declaring prophetically to the congregation a double portion, restoration, and honour instead of disgrace.
