Pastor Jimmy Odukoya, during his message at the September 27 Sunday service, emphasised the importance of divine preservation, which he said may people especially Christians don’t pay prominent attention to.
Using the experience of the Shunammite woman who left her land, house and property because of a seven-year famine, following the prophet’s instruction recorded in 2 Kings 8:1-6 as illustration, he said that Sometimes preservation can look like displacement but it is a compensation package from God, adding that God can compensate by limiting damage and restraining the enemy.
“Don’t mistake when God is hiding you for God having forgotten you,” he warned.
Pastir Jimmy therefore encouraged his listeners not to let temporary loss define them, emphasising that obedience does not guarantee the absence of loss but assures that loss will not have the final say, as recorded in Psalm 34:19. “When God compensates you, your time, productivity, loss and displacement are restored,” he said.
Earlier in the service, Pastor Toluwani Odukoya, anchored the Promise of the Week from Isaiah 50:4-5, encouraging the congregation to speak God’s Word over every situation.
