You Can’t Win in Someone Else’s Armour

Amour

Pastor Toluwani Odukoya @ Sunday Service

Pastor Toluwani Odukoya, while ministering at the October 12 Sunday Service, spoke on the theme, “You Can’t Win in Someone Else’s Armour,” cautioning believers against imitating another person’s walk with God or trying to replicate someone else’s expression of faith.

Drawing insights from 1 Samuel 17:4-7, 38 – 40, she emphasised that believers cannot overcome the enemy using the same armour of sin or the weapons of the flesh. “You cannot fight the enemy with the flesh or with the same weapon he created. Come to the Spirit,” she said.

Referencing Romans 8:6-8 and 2 Corinthians 10:3-5, Pastor Toluwani explained that the world often presents its own kind of strength and armour, but such cannot prevail in spiritual warfare, noting that the world is a supernatural/spiritual place.  She reminded them that, “Our weapons of warfare are not carnal.”

She warned against imitation Christianity, noting that many believers have confined God to what He is not. “The Holy Ghost is inside of you, not in any mantle or material. Stop chasing mantles, God is in you,” she said.

Encouraging the congregation to remain sensitive to God’s leading, Pastor Toluwani added, “Don’t get stuck in the ways of God and miss the move of God.”

She finally urged her listeners to stop trying to help God, but instead to follow His unique instructions for their lives. “God’s walk with you is tailored to your assignment. Don’t compare yourself to anyone,” she concluded.

Pastor Femi Megbope, earlier in the service, shared the promise of the week from Isaiah 52:12, encouraging the congregation to trust God completely in whatever instruction He has given concerning any issue or situation. He reminded them not to be afraid, for the Lord has gone ahead of them and is also their rear guard.

He emphasised that when God gives an instruction, He also provides everything needed to bring it to pass. He declared, “The Lord is your Chief Protocol Officer and your Chief Security Officer. He goes before you and comes after you. When He orders your steps, do not be afraid, He is with you.”
