Prepared for Suddenly

Speaking on the theme for the month, “Suddenly,” Pastor Femi Megbope, while ministering at the September 28 family Sunday service, reminded the congregation that preparation and alignment with God’s will are essential for the manifestation of the “God of Suddenly” in the lives of believers. In his words, “That God has the ability to do is no guarantee He will, if you are not prepared.”

Taking his anchor scripture from Ephesians 3:20, Pastor Megbope expounded on three key factors foundational for the God of Suddenly to show up in the lives of God’s people. First, he stressed the need for unity and being in one accord, whether as a church, a couple, or a family, adding that disunity takes a person outside God’s will.

Another factor for God’s sudden intervention in the lives of believers, according to Pastor Megbope is consistency and persistence in pursuing God, regardless of life’s circumstances, drawing examples from Paul and Silas in prison as recorded in Acts 16:22–26 and 2 Chronicles 16:9. “At the point of pain and discomfort, we must be consistent in our praise and worship to Him because God is testing to see if we are worshipping Him just to deliver us or because of who He is,” he said.

Lastly, he admonished the congregation to guard their hearts and keep them pure before God and fellow men, referencing 1 Samuel 7:1–4, 9–10 and Proverbs 4:23.

Earlier in the service, Pastor Dipo Osinloye shared the promise for the week, taken from Isaiah 41:15-16 with the congregation, stating that nothing will be able to stop the power of God working in their lives because their victory is sure in Christ. He affirmed to the people of God that every mountain, insurrection, opposition, and hindrance before them would become as dust once they declare the word of God over such situations.
