Pastor Jimmy Odukoya @ Sunday Service
In a beautiful alignment with the global celebration of International Women’s Day, the March 8 Sunday service took time to honour and celebrate the women in The Fountain of Life Church, acknowledging their impact, strength, and invaluable role in the church community, society and God’s kingdom. Pastor Jimmy Odukoya, in continuation of his series titled, Divine Fearlessness, referenced the testimony of Mrs. Philips to emphasise importance of faith, courage, and complete reliance on God.
Mrs. Philips’ calmness and fearless demeanour during an armed robbery attack at her residence in Ogun State served as a powerful illustration of divine fearlessness. Rather than succumbing to fear, she boldly confronted the burglars who threatened her with death while stealing her belongings. Her courage and unwavering faith demonstrated what it means to live in the reality of divine fearlessness, and remarkably, she came out of the situation unharmed.
Pastor Jimmy also connected the message to the significance of International Women’s Day, celebrating the courage, resilience, and faith demonstrated by women. He emphasised that the same divine identity applies to women in Christ, stating that they are called to walk boldly in purpose, leadership, and impact without fear.
He therefore reminded the congregation that fearlessness begins with recognising their identity and support system. He said, “Regardless of the circumstances we face, we must remain conscious of God’s constant presence. This awareness strengthens our faith and empowers us to stand fearless in every situation.”
Earlier in the service, Pastor Toluwani Odukoya reminded the congregation that God’s promise in Zechariah 10:1 calls for complete dependence on Him. Even in situations where outcomes may seem automatic or predictable, God still invites us to trust Him fully.
She encouraged everyone to acknowledge God in all things and to remain continually thankful, emphasising that God desires to be involved in every aspect of our lives. In her words, “God gives both the will and the ability to act.”
