Pastor Jimmy Odukoya @ Sunday Service
“Fearlessness begins with knowing who you are and whose you are.”
Pastor Jimmy Odukoya, while ministering at the March 1 Sunday service, emphasised the need for believers to make fearlessness become their identity reality. Tagging his sermon “divine fearlessness,” pastor Jimmy noted that divine fearlessness flows from sonship and from knowing who you are. He said, “Divine Fearlessness is rooted in identity.
Using David as an example, whose boldness was covenant confidence, not self-confidence, because he knew he was a covenant child of God, he told the congregation that when identity is unclear, fear is amplified, but when identity is settled, giants look smaller. Divine fearlessness begins with the revelation of knowing who is with you, for God’s antidote to fear is His presence.”
Speaking from Isaiah 43:1 and Genesis 3:10, he explained that fear entered humanity when sin fractured man’s identity. However, through redemption, our sonship is restored. As he put it, “Fear came after a fractured identity, but redemption restores sonship.”
Also drawing from 2 Timothy 1:7, he emphasised that fear is not just an emotion but a spirit, noting many people are unknowingly trapped by it. He therefore charged them to not be afraid of pursuing their goals or stepping into God’s promises. “Fearlessness begins with knowing who you are and whose you are,” he urged.
Earlier in the service, Pastor Toluwani Odukoya shared the Promise for the week, taken from Deuteronomy 15:6, with the congregation. She noted that there are conditions attached to the blessings God has given to the believer, explaining that the blessings are already available, but it is for man to obey and follow the conditions for those blessings to manifest in his life.
