Pastor Jimmy Odukoya @ Sunday service

In continuation of his messages from Isaiah 60:1, Pastor Jimmy Odukoya, while ministering at the August 16 Sunday service, delivered a message titled “It’s Shine Time,” challenging the congregation to embrace their calling to shine and make the light of Christ visible in a world that needs hope, truth and godly influence.

Drawing from 1 Samuel 16:7, Genesis 39:9, Psalm 101:2, 1 Samuel 24, Proverbs 10:9 and Proverbs 28:6, he emphasised that God looks beyond outward appearances and is deeply concerned with the condition of the heart. He encouraged believers to be as intentional about developing their character as they are about pursuing material success.

Pastor Jimmy also highlighted the power of words, encouraging believers to let their mouths carry light rather than cause harm, drawing from Proverbs 15:23, 1 Samuel 25, Ephesians 4:29 and Acts 4:36. He also cited Acts 10:38, Daniel 6:3, and John 13:5 to challenge believers to make their faith tangible through their actions, service and excellence.

Pastor Jimmy thereafter reminded believers of the importance of compassion for their fellow human beings and the courage to stand for what is right. He noted that there are times when God will place them in certain rooms because their voices are needed there. “The believer is called to reflect Christ, even when doing so isn’t comfortable or celebrated,” he said.

Earlier in the service, Pastor Tobi Enuha encouraged the congregation from Philippians 1:6, reminding them that God, who began a good work in them, is faithful to complete it. She also emphasised that while God is continually at work in their lives, they have a responsibility to examine their lives, evaluate their choices and remain intentional in their walk with God.

She encouraged them to live in a way that honours the One who called them, ensuring that their lives do not become a disappointment to Him.
