WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT FROM PASTOR NOMTHI @ SUNDAY SERVICE – JUNE 3 – JUNE 9, 2018

Pastor Nomthi’s word of encouragement to the congregation on Sunday June 3, 2018 was based on the scripture for promise for the week taken from the Book of John 16:24.

She recalled an incident that happened when she was growing up in which an ice cream van had passed by her house. She really wanted the ice cream but was reluctant to ask her mother as she felt that she would not oblige her. Eventually her mother got to know that she wanted some ice cream and wondered why she did not ask her for it.

She used this story to emphasise the fact that God expects His children to ask for things from Him so that their joy may be full. A Christian should always ask God regardless of the circumstances/situation or how difficult or impossible the request may appear. She also emphasised the need to ask for things, which concern others in addition to personal requests.

WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT FROM PASTOR NOMTHI @ THURSDAY SHOWERS

“It is a special thing to know that God loves us. When we remember His love, it helps us to keep holding up.” These were Pastor Nomthi’s words of encouragement to the congregants of the May 31st Thursday showers service.

Drawing her exhortation from the book of Deuteronomy 7:9, Pastor Nomthi explained that God has always loved us before we loved Him. When we despair and give up, it is not because He has forgotten us, but rather we are the ones who have forgotten that He loves us. “But when we remember that He loves us, we will not give up,” she said.

Just like when a toddler runs into her father’s loving and waiting arms, Pastor Nomthi encouraged the church to always run to God without hesitation when they feel pressured with life’s issues. “There is no wrong time to run to Him. He is ready to pick us up because He loves us,” she said.

She also admonished the church not worry about the future because God is ever mindful of us and has promised to take care of us even to a thousand generations.
