Pastor Jimmy Odukoya, while ministering during the June 28 Sunday service on the message titled “Don’t Touch the Glory,” reminded the congregation that believers must never become so consumed by God’s blessings, achievements, and opportunities that they lose sight of the One who makes them possible.
Speaking from Isaiah 42:8 and Genesis 41:16, he explained that while God freely shares His blessings, gifts, authority, and favour with His children, He never shares His glory. “God shares every other thing, but He doesn’t share His glory. Every promotion, breakthrough, and success must ultimately point back to Him,” he said.
He stressed that the greatest danger after experiencing a divine shift is not failure but pride. Using the examples of Joseph and Daniel, Pastor Jimmy highlighted how both men consistently acknowledged God as the true source of their wisdom and ability before kings, refusing to take credit for what only God could do. He urged believers never to allow the gift to replace the Giver, noting that many seek God fervently in the wilderness but neglect Him after arriving at the palace.
Reminding the congregation that they are vessels and not the source, Pastor Jimmy referenced Gideon and his 300 men, explaining that their remarkable victory was possible only through God’s power. Likewise, every preservation, victory, sound mind, clarity, and purpose believers enjoy are testimonies of God’s faithfulness.
He encouraged them to reflect God’s glory, not absorb it, because the quickest way to lose what God has given is to take His glory for oneself,
Earlier in the service, Pastor Toluwani Odukoya shared the Promise of the Week from Deuteronomy 28:6, reminding the congregation that they are blessed because it is God’s desire, not because of their own efforts. She also encouraged everyone with the assurance that God is alive, faithful, and actively at work in every situation.
