The Owambe Thanksgiving Sunday Service began on an uplifting note as the Grace Levites (the TFOLC Choir) ushered the congregation into God’s presence with heartfelt songs of gratitude and honour, celebrating His preservation from January 2025 to date. Truly, God has been faithful!
In his exhortation on the reasons for praise, the Senior Pastor, Pastor Jimmy, reminded the church that God’s faithfulness from January till now is more than enough reason for thanksgiving.
He encouraged the congregation to praise with intentionality, highlighting three key reasons for praise:
- A Command from God – referencing Psalm 150:6, he emphasised that praise is an instruction from the Lord.
- Praise as Warfare – he noted that praise is a strategic spiritual weapon. As believers, we do not fight like ordinary men; we engage with spiritual weapons. Our voices of praise become arrows launched into the enemy’s camp, and as we lift our praise, we place a chokehold on the enemy’s neck.
- Sacrificial Praise – he described sacrificial praise as that which rises in difficult seasons, bringing down blessings and turning situations around.
Concluding his exhortation, Pastor Jimmy declared: “Let your praise be intentional and deliberate. Whatever the situation may be, hand it over to God. Praise knows what to do. The Lord will fight for you, and you will hold your peace.”
Opening the floor with electrifying praise, was Gospel Force leading the congregation in a vibrant rock-style praise session, thanking God for His goodness throughout 2025 and celebrating the assurance that He has already gone ahead of us into 2026. They further guided the church in a praise-warfare session, confronting every unpleasant situation and experience.
Minister Adeyinka Alaseyori followed with a deep, heartfelt time of worship and praise, prompting the congregation to reflect on God’s wondrous acts in 2025 and His glorious promises for 2026.
Minister Lilian Nneji elevated the atmosphere even further, ushering the church into the Holy of Holies with powerful, profound praise in gratitude for God’s great deeds and the new ones yet to unfold.
To conclude the Thanksgiving Sunday Service, Minister Bidemi Olaoba led the congregation deeper into God’s presence with intense worship and energetic praise that confounded the enemy and ushered in victories.
