Pastor Jimmy Odukoya @ Sunday Service
Pastor Jimmy Odukoya, at the September 21 Sunday Service, continued the “Suddenly” series with a message titled, “Sounds of Suddenly.” He distinguished between the mountains and the valleys in the believer’s journey. According to him, valleys represent a place of testing, darkness, warfare, and battles, while mountains are places of revelation. “What you see in revelation on the mountain, you must live out in demonstration in the valley. Valleys reveal who you truly are,” he emphasized.
Using Prophet Ezekiel’s experience at the valley of dry bones recorded in Ezekiel 37:1-10 as an illustration, the clergy said that only the word of God can bring life to dry bones, adding that God allows His children to see clearly before they declare His Word over any situation of their lives just as Ezekiel first saw before he could speak accordingly. “God will not let you speak what you have not seen clearly. When you see clearly, then you can speak accordingly,” he said.
He added that God sometimes permits His children to face their own helplessness so they can fully depend on His power. “God wants to confront us with our reality so that He can reveal His power,” he declared, urging the congregation to trust God completely.
He therefore urged the congregation to put their trust in God, as He is the only one who can give them the right words to speak accordingly to every dry bone of their lives. “If you are in the valley of your life, it’s for a reason. You don’t have to know how to fix it, all you have to do is speak the word – Jesus. Send the word, the Word knows what to do,” he concluded.
Pastor Toluwani, while encouraging the congregation from John 14:13, said that believers’ prayers are not limited by human possibility, adding that the miraculous usually happens and God is glorified when believers ask in Jesus’ name. “Don’t put a limit on what you are asking God for. Take the limit off,” she said.
She thereafter assured that everything they will ever need is in the name of Jesus, only if they would ask in the name of Jesus.
The service also featured a special worship ministration by guest minister Pastor Nathaniel Bassey, who led the congregation in joyful celebration of our Associate Senior Pastor, Pastor Toluwani Odukoya, on the occasion of her 40th birthday.
