THE ATTITUDE AND EXPRESSION OF THANKSGIVING

Pastor Taiwo @ Sunday Service
November 29 was a day of great rejoicing and thanksgiving in the heart of every member of The Fountain of Life Church as it was the church’s annual thanksgiving service. Pastor Taiwo Odukoya, in his message for the day, admonished the congregation to always have an attitude of thanks.
According to him, thanksgiving starts with appreciating people, noting that anyone who is not appreciative of God and other people is conceited and prideful. “It takes the living to thank and praise God. When we verbally and vocally appreciate God, we reveal His glory to everything created around us. A man who cannot say thank you is conceited and prideful,” he said.
Speaking from 2 Samuel 6:12-19 and Psalm 100:1-2, Pastor Taiwo noted that God cannot be praised and thanked with a heart filled with anger and complaints. In his words, “If you are serving God and grumbling, you are not serving the Lord, you are attacking Him. You cannot be grateful and despise and you cannot despise and express thanksgiving.”
Pastor urged the congregation to therefore cultivate the habit of singing, dancing and thanking God and that they should always be grateful for what they have and avoid grieving for what they don’t have. He noted, “’Thank you’ is the best form of prayer. It expresses extreme gratitude with humility.”ncerning them will come to pass.
While charging the worshippers to come into the presence of God with thanksgiving, Pastor Nomthi said, “His truth endures through all generations. Come into His presence expecting something from Him. When you come to God with dancing and thanksgiving, it shows God that you are expecting something.”
She thereafter urged the worshippers to refuse to go back the same way they came.

JESUS SEES YOU
Pastor Taiwo @ Thursday showers
Pastor Taiwo Odukoya stated during the November 26, 2020 Thursday Showers that the expectation of the righteous shall not be cut off irrespective of whatever is going on around them, he said this while noting that God will always come through for them when it seems there’s no more hope. “When it seems like there is nothing to hold on to anymore and it’s so clear to your detractors and even you that you would drown, let it be clear to you that you will not, because that is when God’s power is at its best for you,” he said.
Taking his Bible reference from Mark 6:45-50, Pastor maintained that there will always be the other side for every child of God to cross to and while crossing over to that other side, there would be boisterous tempest and discouragements, but if those believers can understand that Jesus is always with them whether they feel Him or not, they would sail through unhurt. “I am telling you, no matter how delayed it is, what God said will come to pass in your life,” he declared.
While admonishing believers not to kill themselves because of what they are going through because it’s a going through, he urged them not to get overwhelmed by the challenges so much that they would forget that Jesus sees them and knows what they are going through. “You will be tempted. You will be challenged. Your faith would be tried. But the good thing is that Jesus is seeing you. It’s up to you now to see like He sees you. It’s up to you to decide how much of Him you want and want to manifest in your life,” he urged.
