OPEN SECRETS

Pastor Oyindamola Soderu @ Sunday first service
The first Sunday of every month is always a time for believers to celebrate God’s goodness. This was not an exception at The Fountain of Life Church on Sunday, July 3rd, 2022 as members poured out their hearts to God in thanksgiving for all His goodness, especially for the first half of the year and for the beginning of the second half in peace and good health.
After an awesome praise and worship session, prayers of thanksgiving were offered to God on behalf of the church and the nation.
Pastor Nwachukwu Nzegwu, while encouraging the congregation from the promise of the week, Isaiah 40:29, noted that believers have help in God and He is always ready to help His own. He then urged them to put their total trust in God because He is a very sure foundation.
The message for the day was given by Pastor Oyindamola Soderu, who shared a few of God’s secrets which she had gleaned from Pastor Taiwo’s messages from the past two months. According to her, God hears everyone’s prayers, especially the ones prayed for Pastor Taiwo Odukoya. “So don’t stop praying and giving thanks to God on behalf of our pastor,” she said.
Speaking from Deuteronomy 29:29 and Colossians 1:27, the clergy said that the secret of God may be hidden to the whole world, but there are people He wants to reveal His secrets to, and those are His covenant people. She further noted that a major open secret of God is that Christ is with His own.
Pastor Oyinda Soderu also read Psalm 25:14 and said that anyone who wants to know these kingdom secrets must accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. She also said that these secrets are only for people who have a covenant with God.
Gratitude, according to her, is a major secret of God. She referred to Colossians 3:17 and Psalm 100:4-6 to say that believers need to have gratitude goals that include thanking God intentionally for His goodness, thanking Him in crisis, famine, sickness, plenty, and at crossroads. “You need to learn to thank God in all and through all,” she said.
She further noted that God knows everything and has gotten it sorted, so the way a believer should enter His presence is with thanksgiving and His court with praise, noting that God’s presence is with them everywhere. “God’s presence is not only when you come into the four walls of the church. The presence of God is always with you anywhere you find yourself. There is no holiday from being a child of God,” she noted.
She therefore urged her listeners to always be grateful for all and through all, stating that should be a lifestyle for them.
In her words, “The Lord is good and His mercy endures forever. So don’t complain about adversity or grumble. Gratitude is not magic, but a lifestyle. Don’t show gratitude to God because you want something from Him; let it be a lifestyle and see the result. You can’t practise gratitude without recording success.”

WHILE WAITING
Pastor Yemisi Akindolie @ Sunday service
Believers should endeavour to use all that God has gifted them to work for the betterment of society. This was the crux of Pastor Yemisi Akindolie’s sermon during the July 3 Sunday second service of The Fountain of Life Church.
While speaking on the message, which she titled “While Waiting”, the clergy used the parable of the talents recorded in Matthew 25 to say that many believers have not yet fully maximised the gifts they have; noting that God is just and has given individuals different abilities.
Pastor Yemisi listed some of the things God has entrusted into people’s hands, including time, money, resources, and relationships, among others. “And that made me start to say to myself that I have to be careful how I treat people. They are God’s property. It started to make me mindful of relationships,” Pastor Yemisi said.
Citing Acts 1:8, she explained that only God can empower the believer to use the talents at his disposal rightly. “May we never forget that we can only do it with His power,” she added.
While likening this to a vehicle manufacturer making specifications about the kind of fuel a car needs, the cleric maintained that it is relying on God that is the sure way to fully maximise life’s potential.
Earlier in the service, Pastor Bisoye Okwoli used Isaiah 40:31’s “Promise of the Week” to remind the church that even though some problems may seem impossible to solve, Christians shouldn’t forget that God is on their side.
In her words, “I don’t know what challenges that are facing you or those seeming limitations and obstacles that seem to defy answer and logic, but God is giving you His CV: He says I am not tired.”
She continued, “At the end of the day, if anybody will be tired, it will be that situation; it will be that devil that will not let you go that will go weary.”
In her opinion, a believer must have a thorough understanding of who he or she is to be able to take advantage of their privileges.

GOD WANTS YOU TO MINISTER TO HIM
Pastor Tosin Sowemimo urges Showerians
Worshippers at the June 30 Thursday showers were filled with songs of praise to God. It was the last showers service in the month and much more, being the last day of the first half of the year, 2022.
Awesome testimonies of divine healing, gift of life and supernatural intervention by Mrs. Adeyemi to God’s deliverance from sickness and sudden death over Sister Adenike’s daughters and celebrations of life for Sister Evelyn and her daughter, among others, were also proof of God’s faithfulness and reasons to further praise Him.
Pastor Tosin Sowemimo then led the congregation in a series of prayers of thanksgiving and praise to thank God for everything He had done for them. In her words, “It’s human to take things for granted sometimes, but it’s amazing how everything we have and are is all by His grace. There are people like you and I who made plans yesterday, but somehow, all those plans are gone.”
The clergy said, quoting Hebrews 11:1-7, that just as God always ministers to His children, believers should also minister to God in praise and worship for all He has been and done for them. Another way believers can minister to God is by believing that He is for them and with them in every situation they find themselves in.
In explaining faith, Pastor Sowemimo said that God’s ways are sometimes not clear to humans, but once believers can trust God and follow His instructions even when they don’t seem to understand, they will have awesome testimonies. “You don’t have to see anything; you don’t even have to understand what the Lord is saying, but once you have His promise, instructions, and words, just do it and you will get to where He is leading you to,” she said.
She then encouraged everyone to put their trust in God and praise Him regardless of their circumstances. According to her, “Don’t ever compare yourself to anyone. I don’t know where you are at, but what I do know is that He is God. He will never change nor fail, and you need to get to a point where you will trust Him no matter what,” she urged.
