ACTIVATING JOY

Pastor Oyindamola Soderu @ Sunday first service
A lot of Christians seem to be excelling in every other area of life but joy. Activating joy even when it’s not convenient helps a believer to see God’s hands in action. Pastor Oyinda Soderu said this at the August 18 Sunday first service. “You are expected to always express the joy of the Lord in whatever situation you find yourself and not your own joy,” she said.
Reading from the Books of Esther 8:16-17, Nehemiah 8:10 and Psalm 34:12, Pastor Oyinda noted that once a believer is filled with the Holy Spirit, they should always rely on that Spirit of God to supply them the needed joy. This, she noted, would make it easy for them to be joyful in whatever situation they find themselves. “You can count it all joy because you have the Holy Spirit inside of you,” she said.
She further said that expressing the joy of the Lord is not a promise but a command; noting that it involves both God and the believer. In her words, “God supplies the joy and you must receive it. Your part is just to receive this covenant joy by faith and not rely on your efforts because they are futile if God doesn’t answer you.”
She therefore admonished the congregation to always rejoice and be glad because that is a sign for those who love God. “You can’t have joy or express it without the help of the Holy Spirit. So, allow Him help you when it’s difficult,” she urged.

ACTIVATING THE POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
Pastor Tolu Ijogun @Sunday Second Service
Using the illustration of the Potential and Kinetic Energy in explaining how to activate the power of the Holy Spirit, Pastor Tolu Ijogun at the August 18 Sunday second service said that the Holy Spirit puts in believers the potential power at salvation; but that power would only come to work when the believer puts to action, that power stored up in them. In her words, “The Holy Ghost is in very believer and He is the power that is working in you; but it is according to the power at work in you that you can do things and receive all you need. You need to use the Holy Spirit that you have in you.”
Speaking from Ephesians 3:20, 1 Corinthians 2:12, she said that believers must begin to use the power in the Blood of Jesus and the Holy Spirit. According to her, once God’s word is sent out to a believer, it is binding but seeing its manifestation would depend on the believer aligning himself or herself with that spoken word of God. “You have all it takes for you to rule and reign in this realm because you are a child of God,” she said.
She further said that the Holy Spirit is everything to the believer but the human mind in trying to fathom the ways of God, will always limit what He can do through them. She therefore urged them to move to the realm of all possibilities and limitlessness through the Holy Spirit by not being limited with their thought or sight. “Just as Light cannot come on except you switch on the light source, so also, you need to activate the power of the Holy Spirit in you to see His manifestation now. The Spirit of God is alive, active and at work,” she urged.

CREATED FOR HIS PLEASURE
Pastor Tinu Olasore @Thursday Showers
It was a glorious session of praise and worship at the August 15 Thursday Showers Service as worshippers were led in several praise and worship session. In her message for the day, Pastor Tinu Olasore said that God desires the worship of His children, adding that the prerequisite for true worship is to worship Him in the spirit. “God created you to give Him pleasure. The secret to a victorious and successful life is to give God pleasure,” she said.
Taking her texts from the Books of Revelation 4: 9-11, Jeremiah 1:12 and Isaiah 43:7, Pastor Tinu noted that believers should always reflect on and remember God’s words and promises and then begin to give Him praise. “Your reality is in the unseen God and His presence is able to melt all pains and disappointment. Praise Him when it is not even convenient and see how things work together for your good,” she said. However, she cautioned against murmuring to God or fighting Him over unanswered prayers which will only end in futility and frustration because it doesn’t change who He is.
She therefore urged them to always stand on God’s words, stop lip services and reveal God’s glory. “God expects His children to always look up. This will not allow you sink into the devil’s trouble. And when your life gives Him pleasure and glorify Him, whatever you ask, He’d give you,” she urged.
