JUST DO IT!!!
Procrastination, they say is a thief of time, a stitch in time saves nine, make the hay now while the sun shines, time and tides wait for no man all of these clichés are what you sometimes hear the elderly use to drive home their point each time, they are talking to some youth, who considers time as something to be spent rather than invest.
Time is such a crucial factor in the life of every living being, plants and even beast. It is one of the numerous factors that is out of human control and permit me to say that your perception of time is a determinant factor of your approach towards life and how well you do in life. It is important then to say that your time is your biggest asset and the greatest gift from God to mankind.
Someone once said that there are three seasons in life, the first, the morning time followed by the noon time and then the night season of life, considering this fact, let’s do some mathematics quickly. We all know that the expectancy age in this part of the world is 45yrs and going by the bible the lifespan of a human being in this time and age is 70yrs old. So let’s divide 70 by the three (3) season of life, the answer is 23.3yrs. Therefore by age 23, you have exhausted the first phase of your life span and by age 46, you are on your way to the final lap of your stay here on earth, therefore if you fall into any of this category, the question to ask yourself then would be what have I done with my life because by now it must have dawned on you that life is short and death is sure, for no one has promised you tomorrow.
The point then is, now and not tomorrow is the time to do that particular thing (positive) you’ve dreamt of doing all your life, that book you’ve dreamt of writing, that idea or plan you’ve always dreamt of executing, that business you’ve dreamt of starting, that career you love to pursue. Now is the time to start living your dreams. Remember that there’s no such thing as shortage of time but wastage of time. Stop giving excuses, just do it now. Also remember that yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is all that we’ve got, so let make the maximum use of our time. |
Writing your eulogy
Now this exercise might seem spooky, but it’s essential to complete it if you are serious about being the very best you can be. I want you to write out your own eulogy.
In the space below, record how you want to be remembered. Then study it, and decide how close you are to being that kind of person. Ask yourself what you can do, starting from today, to be the person you are writing about.
