HAVE YOU EVERY THOUGHT...?
Have you ever thought that life was leaving you behind? That your peers were far ahead of you or that you needed to seize whatever opportunity you had irrespective of the consequence on your personal well being and spiritual growth? Have you ever been in a situation where you thought ‘only if I had a little more time, I’ll meet my deadline?
Every individual on the face of the earth directly is influenced by the phenomenon called TIME. According to the advanced English dictionary, time is the continuum of experience in which events pass from the future through the present to the past. In other words time is the period during which an action or event occurs.
Why do people get so worked up about time? Except an individual has a deep understanding of the perfect timing of God, he or she may end up frustrated with life. A popular Yoruba proverb says ‘do not work with another person’s clock/watch/time’. In the new living translation complete concordance the word ‘time’ occurs nine hundred and sixty four times (964) through out the entire bible. This just goes to show the importance and significance of time in Gods plan for humanity.
In the jet age where science and technology has made the human life style much more convenient and easy, people tend to lose their patience when things do not happen quickly. As a Christian when you pray, you know God hears you and you expect Him to respond immediately but He might have other plans for you (Jeremiah 29vs 11) which in all cases are far better than what we were expecting from Him (Ephesians 3vs 20). It is due to lack of faith that so many people worry about issues rather than trust in the ever faithful timing of our God. A creator can never be subject to what he creates, our heavenly Father created time, hence we need not panic when it seems like time is against us. The perfect antidote to this worry syndrome is what I refer to as total trust in the Word of God.
Psalm 75vs 2a says: God says, ”at the time I have planned,” if God can say this and we know that His plans for us are good and not evil to give us a hope and a future, is there any need to worry? The secret to peace with God is to discover, accept and appreciate God’s perfect timing. Ecclesiastes 3vs 11 say: God has made everything beautiful in its own time hence; there is a time and a season under the heavens for your manifestation. No one knows the ultimate plan of God per unit time but as your relationship with Him deepens He reveals His plan to us. A lot of people cannot wait for Gods timing and go on their own to do things outside Gods will for their life with perilous consequences. The bible says; those that wait upon the Lord shall be strong, thus there is a waiting that will occur from time to time. We do not know how close we are to our breakthrough. Sometimes we are right at the threshold of that divine blessing but that unusual virtue called patience is what separates those who get their blessings from those whom do not.
Our heavenly Father is a just God. His word says in Isaiah 49vs 8: at just the right time, I will respond to you. Also in Isaiah 60vs 22b it says: I the Lord will bring it all to pass at the right time. Under heaven there is a time for everything and what gladdens my heart the most is that our Father is crazy about us His children. Are you worried about anything? Are your mates making all the millions and you think that God has forgotten you? Thou your beginning may be small your end will be exceedingly great. Are all your mates showing you their wedding rings and you are wondering what you have done to God that your case is different, Philippians 4 vs. 6-7 says: be anxious for nothing…
What ever you are going through He knows about it and in His perfect time, He will settle you. The living God is never late and He will not break protocol to be late on your case. Just be patient and hold on to his Word. |
Writing your eulogy
Now this exercise might seem spooky, but it’s essential to complete it if you are serious about being the very best you can be. I want you to write out your own eulogy.
In the space below, record how you want to be remembered. Then study it, and decide how close you are to being that kind of person. Ask yourself what you can do, starting from today, to be the person you are writing about.
