The first time I read this scripture, I have to confess, I totally tripped. I had mixed feelings of emotional turmoil going on within me. While I was being comforted on one side, another side of me felt a bit slighted by what Paul had written, I don't know about you but every now and then I reason with God concerning His word, and before you shout heresy it's biblical, for the author of the Word said, "Come let us reason together", He said I could bring my case before him, which was exactly what I did.
How can Paul make so light of what I am going through. I am going through hell and my back is against the wall, almost going out of my mind and Brother Paul qualified all this as LIGHT? This stuff is killing me, almost having me question all that I believe but I am being told that this issue is light. WOW!
As if this isn't enough he said the problem was momentary. You know I totally lost it here, for Paul only needs to know how long I have been down and every time I thought I was making a head way here comes another trouble, I never get a break and all hell seems to be breaking loose. It's like telling the man who had been crippled for 38 years that his ailment had only gone on for a moment, now wouldn't that be unfair?
But before we jump to any conclusions, I had to caution myself for the same scripture went on to say the very event that I am flipping over is designed to take me to my next level; the very thing that seems to want to wipe me out is designed to herald in my promotion but, it's the next sentence that totally turned it around for me. The Bible said this next move, after the storm is over and done with, after I have endured this test of faith, after I have been taken through my own fiery furnace, the weight of glory that will manifest will be BEYOND MEASURE. Remember in the beginning of the text, Paul referred to the magnitude of what I am going through as light and momentary, but watch this, when it comes to what will be revealed after this experience, Paul lost all measures, he said it was going to be beyond measure, which means for the glory that is to be manifested once this season passes, I will not be able to measure it, it will be a miracle that no man can measure because it will be beyond human comprehension. I think we should all take a praise break right there. Whatever you are going through, or must have gone through, it is time to count it all joy, whatever injustice you think you suffered from the hands of others, it is time to send them a thank you letter because all the while it was preparing, achieving and producing for you a greater weight of glory which cannot be measured and will never cease. Note, I said never cease, your afflictions or troubles are just for a moment, that means it will come to an end. Your abuse is for a season, it will come to an end. Your feeling like a victim is just for a moment, but it will come to an end. Your filling underutilized is just for a moment it will come to an end. Your singleness baby is just for a while it will come to an end but guess what, what you are coming into, the victory, the glory to be revealed in you, will never cease. Hallelujah.
So I say to you today, take heart, the storm is almost over; I say to you today to be of good courage; I say to you today, please don't loose your faith and give up now. You are about to enter into a season of reward, double for all your troubles. Don't focus on what you can see now because those things are illusions, they are there to shift you and see if you will give up on what God has for you; they are there to purify you so you will be fit and ready for the weight of what is to come. Can you now see that you are too close to give up? What you see now that is contrary to God's word is simply not real, for the Bible says in verse 18 of the same chapter "So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal". What do you see and how are you seeing?
