Promise for the week: - - Mark 10 : 27But Jesus looked at them and said, for with God all things are possible NKJV News June 13 - 19, 2010
The prophetic declaration of June as OUR MONTH OF INCREASE is from God, and shall be established. This assertion was made at the last Thursday Showers by Pastor Biodun Soderu. According to him, in Genesis 1, the Bible records that in the beginning, the whole world was without form and void but with a decree God made all things. He read several Bible passages to support that when we decree a thing, it shall be established. They include Psalm 115:14, Colossians 1:9-10, Job 22:23-28 and Mark 11:23. He further admonished the congregation to be like Joshua and Caleb in Numbers 13 whose report of the Promised Land was different from that of the other spies. Details of this message are available in the Tape Shop.
Many people, including Christians, are in the business of destroying their future with the very words spoken by them. Examining this anomaly last Sunday, Pastor Tayo Kujore exhorted Christians to watch their utterances, particularly in communicating with their offspring. Reading from the book of Judges 2:11-19, he wondered why the children of Israel had so many Judges. According to him, the moment a judge died, the Israelites returned to their old ways and relied on mercy. This was because their foundations were weak. One way of weakening a foundation, he said, is to invest on negative words. Likening the situation to the present day church, Pastor Tayo lamented that ignorance has become a mountain in the Church. “In the spirit realm,” he said, “there is a word bank. What you deposit there today will be waiting for you to reap tomorrow. That is the law of seed time and harvest.” He added that there are certain principles that we need to adhere to in order to enjoy divine increase as declared by the under-shepherd, Pastor Taiwo: The fear of God, understanding and respecting covenant, meditating on the Word and careful planning. Pastor Taiwo’s messages are available on tapes and CDs at The Fountain of Life Church Tape Shop.
The second message of the day delivered by Pastor Dapo Williams bore striking similarities with the earlier message of the day by Pastor Tayo Kujore. Pastor Dapo Williams admonished all those who take delight in sowing evil words into the lives of their children to desist henceforth. Pastor Williams set the congregation rolling all through with laughter when he went over some Yoruba names with their various funny connotations, some positive and others negative. Citing the examples of the parables related to sowing (Matthew 13), he told the congregation that Jesus was very mindful in using the sower as an example in many places. This, he explained, is because life is about sowing and reaping. He encouraged everyone to stay away from unnecessary materialism, and divert their attention to Kingdom-profitable investments. “If you want to prosper,” he counselled, “look for the relevant Word for prosperity.” He reminded the church that every need is usually backed up with a corresponding Word. He released seven prophecies earlier handed to him for the church. Pastor Taiwo’s messages are available on tapes and CDs at The Fountain of Life Church Tape Shop.
