This is the Hospital outreach of the Fountain of Life Church. Its Establishment in 2002 arose from Divine Instruction to Pastor Taiwo Odukoya (Senior Pastor of T.F.O.L.C.) that a hospital be established in Ilupeju as an outreach to the underprivileged, to demonstrate tangibly the love of Christ to all men and to prevent easily avoidable deaths.
Our Mission at Grace Springs is to demonstrate the love of Jesus, through the provision of quality healthcare services to all. The center provides pacesetting standard medical care to members of the society with a view to providing qualitative medical care, hope, succor, and to reach out to the unsaved.
Our Vision is to become a reference point for excellence, professionalism, superior operational systems and processes for mission and philanthropy oriented medical services in Nigeria.
It is on record that 70% of the patients seen at the hospital on a monthly basis are indigents referred from the church office. Also, the intimate network which the hospital has with the Dorcas Ministry (Ministry to the needy), and the Missions Department of the Fountain of Life Church, as well as other arms of the ministry, provides an invaluable channel for reaching the underprivileged with free medical care.
The medical facility, which is located at No.19 Oba Adetona Street, Ilupeju, gives access to 24-hours services delivered by highly quailed personnel in a divinely inspired environment.
Basically, primary & some secondary level care are offered at the centre. At present, there is an out-patient Paediatric clinic (Saturdays: 10am – 12pm) and Orthopaedic consultation every Wednesday (4pm – 6pm).
At present, the center has a 6-bed in-patient facility, pharmacy and an outpatient facility. The detailed lists of services provided at the hospital include:
Outpatient Services
Inpatient Care
The hospital has medical doctors, nurses (fully qualified state registered nurses/midwives) and other Para-medical staff that cover the hospital on the normal 24-hour shift duty system.
A 24-hour ambulance service is also available.
The hospital pharmacy is well stocked; our caterer provides a menu that meets the dietary requirements of our patients.
The infrastructural facilities of the hospital are good. There is continuous supply of water; our electricity supply from NEPA is supported with two diesel-powered generator and a petrol generator.
As regards the Management profile of the hospital, we have Dr. Gbolahan Ogunrinde as head of the Hospital Management and Pastor Taiwo Odukoya, the Senior Pastor of T.F.O.L.C as the head of the Hospital Council. Others in the team include medical practitioners and consultants in various fields.
The hospital has a strong administrative system which co-ordinates efficiently all aspects of the hospital functions. There is a fully computerized management information system, which serve the administration aspect of the hospital. This includes: Patients registration and maintenance of electronic patients records, patients utilizations, billing and inventory management.
All these complement the clinical services and patients care delivery system of the hospital.
The medical center is quite suitable for all and also accessible and affordable to the underprivileged that have no hope and access to good medical care.
To impact positively on the Ilupeju community and environs, the hospital has as one of its services, a prepaid medical scheme, which enables clients and other users of the medical facility an opportunity to pay a relatively affordable premium for an Individual, Family or a Corporate health plan.
Medical Retainership Schemes are available for corporate organizations at the hospital. This is a fee-for-service arrangement, which basically gives credit facility to corporate clients.
The hospital also provides services to fee paying patients i.e., patients, who opt to pay cash every time they receive treatment.
Given that the hospital is not profit oriented, and to be able to meet its overhead costs and other sundry expenses, the Pre-paid Scheme concept and the Fee-for Service concept were introduced to compliment the Grants from the church and donations from church members.
With the relocation of the hospital to its present location – a bigger facility which makes room for expansion, all is set to take the hospital to its next phase of growth. We are quite optimistic that the new site will give room for more structured specialist clinics and diagnostic support services, which were hitherto out-sourced, to be set up at the hospital. Plans are already on the way to set-up an Obstetrics & Gynaecology clinic, an operating theatre and a side laboratory at the centre.
At Grace Springs Medical Centre, professionalism, cost effective delivery of value and satisfactory care, continuous motivation of human resource capital, judicious and efficient utilization of financial & non-financial resources, constitute some of the hospital’s core values which modifies its culture, activities and relationship with all stakeholders.
Like every other establishment, Grace Springs Medical Centre is not devoid of some challenges. One of the main teething challenges facing the hospital at present is the issue of funding. TFOLC has been the main financier of the hospital project since inception. Members of the church community have also been donating generously towards the hospital project.
With plans to upgrade the hospital services to include more specialties, a lot of funding will be required to procure & set up the needed medical equipment as well as getting on board, the best human resources needed.
The hospital therefore seeks whole-hearted support and patronage of all in the realization of its divine vision and to ease the burden of the church in keeping the centre running without services deterioration.
