HOME AFFAIRS is a Pastor Taiwo Odukoya’s vision borne out of the burden to have the joy of marriage restored in every home. As one who loves the Lord with a passion, the senior pastor of The Fountain of Life Church, Ilupeju, Lagos, Nigeria has always believed that relationship is the core of our existence and marriage is the strongest covenant on earth. This has informed his enthusiasm to see that spouses are happy and at peace as they live with each other.
Marriage is not a relationship of convenience; it is a lifelong commitment to your spouse. Like every journey, marriage has its highs and lows and each marriage is unique: no two couples travel down the same road.
Good marriages don’t just happen. The couples in exceptional marriages are willing to pray, learn and grow; develop a positive, biblical and godly attitude; discover how to speak their spouse’s love language and celebrate differences.
Basically, there are no perfect marriages because there are no perfect spouses. But you have to aim at making your marriage be as perfect as it can be. A wonderful spouse then is not BORN but MADE. And this ministry is intended to help you be the ideal spouse in order to have a perfect or close-to-perfect marriage.
This ministry includes:
- The Married Men’s Fellowship. This forum is aimed at equipping the married man with the knowledge he needs for his leadership role as husband and father, while still having a firm grip on his career or business. It provides an interactive forum for men to share marital experiences and challenges with a view to finding biblical solutions.
- The Married Women’s Fellowship. This fellowship provides an invaluable source of encouragement to married women as they learn to build their homes with the richness and fullness that comes from the love of Christ. At their meetings they share biblical principles for a happy Christian home and learn how to apply them in real life situations. The fellowship attracts women from various denominations.
- HOME AFFAIRS: Let’s Talk About It. This is an entirely women’s programme where answers are proffered to real life questions bothering on marriage and relationships. The meetings usually are interactive and, at the same time, anonymity is maintained where necessary.
- HOME AFFAIRS: Let’s Be Frank About It. This is exactly like “Let’s talk about it”. The only difference is that it’s wholly a men’s affair.
- Fruitful Vine. It is not uncommon that getting pregnant in marriage can experience some form of delay. When this happens, those involved get worried and often become anxious. This forum seeks to give hope to such who are hopeless and encourage those who are believing God for children. A lot of testimonies have come out of this forum.
